The fastest way to lose a merchant's trust, or to draw a complaint, is to promise something you do not control.
Avoid promises you cannot keep
- "You're approved" before a funder reviews the file
- Specific rates or factor rates before an offer
- Funding by a certain time
- "No credit check" unless you know it is true for that funder
Say this instead
- "Here is what happens next."
- "The funder reviews the file and makes the decision."
- "Most files take a few days, and I will update you as soon as I hear."
Be clear about what an MCA is
In most structures an advance is a purchase of future receivables, not a loan. Use the words your funders use in their contracts.
In ads
The same rules apply to ads and landing pages. Describe the process, not the outcome.
This is general information, not legal advice.
